A very interesting thing happened when I popped in my backup copy of H2 in the 360. Mind you that this backup has the exact files and folders on it, and not in iso form. The 360 actually detected that the game was H2 and told me an update was available for the game. The update downloaded and the box rebooted. I was hoping that it would load up but it just went to a screen telling me that I should go to xbox.com/support..... Anyone know why? I have a feeling it is because there id no digital sig on the disc to verify it is legit. I just downloaded SDK and am looking for XDK. Can I digitally sign a disc with these tools or does anyone know of way to do so?

Hi DanandJen,

Sorry to disappoint you - no, you can't digitally sign the disc, as there is no such tool to do so at the moment.

You might have to wait for a while while some people are working on this problem - to get around this "digital signature" problem.

So I suggest you to pop in your original H2 game in xbox 360 instead.

And enjoy 5 hours of gameplay of "rip-off" H2 game :D

Hope that help clarifying your query.

Cheers,
Diego

I appriciate you taking the time to help me out. The info you gave was awesome. About that Digital Sig. Is it possible MS uses a simple hidden file on the disc similar to publisher certificates to tell the unit that the media is authentic?

that's a possibility, but i'm guessing it's a combination of things that probably include something during the stamping process, more then likely when the disc is pressed is when the digital signature is added, but i could be wrong, Diego might be be able to provide more info on digital signatures for you.
