Hey, Im new here, my first thread :)
I have the new version of PS2 (the small one) and i have matrix infinity mod chip on it.
my problem is this: I burned tekken 5 using alcohol 120 on a Vanguard DVD+R cd using x8 writing speed, i inserted the cd into my PS2 and it said that it cant read the disc. so i tried to burn the game again on a TEAC DVD-R disc using x4 writing speed, i inserted the disc and it worked... but very badly, its get stuck all the time and i cant play like this.
So i just cant understand what im doing wrong... can anyone help me? thx.

Have you tried rebuilding the game yet? If not, look through Alkohol's guide at the top of the page.

My Guess is that it's the quality of the Media...

Cheap media = Mad playback results

TY , Verbatims, Maxell (Made in Japan) , TDK (MIJ) , SONY (MIJ) are all good media choices...

burn no faster than 4x

Tekken 5 is also a DVD so just rip and burn with DVD Decrypter

Yes some PS2's don't like the DVD+R format.. Unless you booktype them to DVD-ROM
here is some info on Booktyping

ok i tryed to do the booktype thingy but... i have a NEC burner and when i choose to change DVD+R to DVD-ROM its says:"failed!". do you know whats the prob? and whats DVD+R DL?

DVD+R DL means it's a DVD+R Dual Layer burner or disc. a DL DVD is twice the size of a DVD+R because it has 2 layers it burns too...
NEC Burner.. I have one also and in order to book type I had to update the firmware to a Mad dog ver of the firmware...
in DVD Decrypter if you go to tools drive & check for firmware updates it will bring you to a web page with firmware updates for your Burner... D/L and install whatever one says supports booktyping (AKA Bitsetting)
Do this at your own risk. there is a warning on the site that they aren't responsible if the firmware kills your drive.. I've never had a problem with firmware but the warning is there....

Drive won't work like it should

What model # NEc drive do you have?
I have NEC 3500AG and I use the Mad Dog 2.FD Firmware ...
I've been using it for months with this firmware and haven't had a bad burn yet ...

basicly the warning is there because you're flashing the drive..

kind of like a warning when you flash the bios of your computer...

Stop repeating yourself :)

No the drive won't go kaput , you may just need to re flash it again with a firmware that does work..

The warning is just there for the sights safety .. Ya know how it is..
