Hi i recently DL a few PS2 games, they take up lot of space, and im wondering what i should use to burn them. They are in ISO format and some games are in ISO plus a MDS file with them. I already looked up a thread about this, but i really dont have the nerve to look at 80+ pages of people talking about the burning the games and then going off topic. Im very impatient. HEHE Anyways what burning programs do u guys suggest. I already have Alcohol 1.9.5.3105 installed. The reason im asking because i read way back that some people found Alcohol to be more helpful to burn their games, and some preferred DVD Decryptor over Alcohol. What do u guys suggest and whats the succession rate of a burned game. PS I have already bought a 50-pack of 16X Verbatim DVD+R's with the Advanced AZO logo. Are these good for burning PS2 games?

Hi m8
I use DVD Decrypter because it is very easy to use and at least for me works all the time.

Just select the iso, select the speed to burn and away you go.

Doesn't get much easier. Give it a try. I have alcohol too, but for an iso I like DVD Decrypter.

Do u think that Verbatim 16X DVD+R, the ones with the Advanced AZO label are good for burning PS2 games or not?

I like the G05's too.

Very rarely any problems. I always use DVD-R, but hey maybe that is just me.

Verb is a good brand. But the 16x +r's might give you some problems. Some ps2's don't handle +r's very well. And many others will highly suggest only using 8x's and burning at 4x or less. What version ps2 do you have?

If your burner supports Booktyping, then do that with your DVD+R's, the performance and compatability rate will be much higher. But since you have a V12, I've heard those don't really have a problem with DVD+R's.

Don't use Ritek G05 medias. Rumor has it Ritek owes some banks a lot of money and to raise the necessary funds they are dumping discs which could explain the low quality of their recent discs. Use TY's, Sony,Fuji, Verbatim. If you can find Ritek G04 or G03 in stores then you are lucky.

Yes I believe your v12 should be fine with +r's. And I also agree with vt57's post about which brands work best.

Oh ya, back to your original post, you can use Alcohol and should have no problems. Just burn the image and you should be fine.

I have a Pioneer DVR-108 with the 1.20 firmware, can i booktype my DVD+R. Im asking cause i tried playing some of my DVD+R with just MP3's, yeah thats a lot of music, and none of them played, but the DVD-R's work flawlessly. Can my burner booktype or not. I looked on other forum pages and found nothing about my burner. I saw a something about a 109, but i dont have a 109. HEEELP

By the looks of it, no you can not booktype:

If so, it would have been noted under "Connection Buffer, Bit".

Going back to your original post, with DVD Decrypter you can use "Mode<Iso<Write" to burn those games you dl'ed. The majority will agree when I say to burn at a slow speed (usually 4x and slower).

As for the iso and mds files, in decrypter choose the mds file. Yes, I know, it's only a few kb's, but trust me it's the file which tell's the burning prog which order to burn the files in. And it'll automatically burn the iso.

Of course you can still use Nero. Alot of people here will recommend DVD Decrypter because it's a real simple prog and it's free.

I suggest Alcohol or Nero because I only use DVD decryptor for movies but that's just me. You'll probably have no problem with Alcohol, though.
