please help. To cut a very long story short i have succesfully used dvd shrink 3.02 to back-up my dvd's but when i burn them using Nero (not sure which version but my computer is only 3 months old) the dvd's wont play on my dvd player but (will only play on the computer). I have followed the exact instructions as given on here but still no luck. Anyone have any suggestioons for me before i completely give up? Thanks. Kev

What output option are you having DVD Shrink outputing to? Is it an ISO file or is it VIDEO_TS/AUDIO_TS folders?

what brand and how old is the Stand alone player your trying to play backups on? It could be that your player dosent suport the DVD media you are trying to use. Some DVD players will play both DVD-R and DVD+R some will only play 1 or the other and some wont play them at all. Plus you need to make sure your using good quility media.

well. i'm not sure how to use ISO files so i did it as video files. I've been looking on this site & the Proline DVD1040 does support just about every disc, even has lists of comments that others have used the same discs. It has to be something that i am doing wrong. What i did was usded DVD Shrink to copy dvd to hard-drive & then used Nero to burn it as a DVD Video. The only thing i wondered was that Nero automatically sets the Book Type to DVD-ROM. Not sure about this. Think i'll just give up. DVD Shrink was good though.
