Guys look imma start of with saying i dont know much about computers, so i need evertything to be explained to me. I got a dvd+rw burner, its is Lite-on DVD+RW SOHW-802S. I just bought some sony dvd-R cds, when i put them in the drive the light blinks for a few seconds and stops. The drive never reads the disk. What can i do to fix this, any1 please.

The problem is that your writer uses +R discs and you are trying to use -R. You need to go get some +R and that will solve your issue.

Jigen is correct, your drive is only capable of accepting +R media. However it can be crossflashed to a 832S to add -R and DL support.

Read this guide carefully, a bad flash can ruin a drive:
