CPU specs:Emachine computer Amd Athlon 64 3200+ processor 1GB DDR ram 160GB harddrive.

Hi i have nero 6.3.1.17 edition and i have no problem with my Buffer lever.It stays at about 97-100% but my Used read buffer goes to about 50% and stays there never climbs to 100% even though my Buffer level is at 100% I have the "tsstcorp cd/dvdw ts-h552b" Dvd burner and a "Sony cd-rw crx320ee" DVD-Reader/CD-rw Combo. I use the Sony as my source when copying on the fly and it can read dvd-r at 8x. I use the tsstcorp as the burner recording at 8x. I have my primary ide channel Device 0 Transfer mode DMA if Available and current transfer mode ultra dma mode 2 and device 1 transfer mode dma if available and current transfer mode not applicable and under my Secondary ide channel Device 0 Transfer mode dma if available current transfer mode ultra dma mode 2 and my Device 1 Transfer mode dma if available current transfer mode ultra dma mode 2. What am im doing wrong why is my used buffer level going to 50% and stays there. I have a good dvd recorder and a good source reader plus lots of memory and a good processor. HELP!!!!!

Everything seems to be order. You have everything configure right in the Primary IDE controller and Secondary IDE controller. You have an adequate system that shouldn't cause any problems. My suggestion would be to burn your stuff at a much slower rate like 4x, although that isn't the cause of it but try it for the hell of it. See if your used read buffer rate goes up. Let me know if that did anything.

You could also try updating your nero to the last good 6x version as the latest 6x has some big bugs.
http://httpdl2.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18.exe
See if the buffer level changes in the new version. And make sure you have the Enable Buffers checked. This is from a CD, but the same thing is used on a DVD burn page, or something like it.

Burning at slower speeds i dont have a problem but its when i burn my dvds at 6x or more i have used read buffer problems. I havent tried a better version of Nero yet ill have to see what happens
