I recently purchased component cables for my PS2 and after playing GT4 in 1080i I was shocked. The image quality was amazing. My tv is a 27" HDTV standard tube with 4:3 aspect ratio, and it's truly amazing how the PS2 can produce images crisp enough to rival XBOX 360 launch titles.

I had played Project Gotham 3 in the 360 and I believe PG3 has graphically nothing on GT4 (except for that cockpit camera view, of course). This is only a glimpse of what we will be able to enjoy after next november, when the PS3 arrives with HDTV resolutions, for all of it's games. Until then GT4 is still tha bomb!!!

Just got a new TV myself, next will be the component cables for the Xbox and PS2. Can't wait to see what that will look like on the 56"

Yeah I tried GT4 in 1080i on my 52" with the component cables. That game looks awsome in HD. It's like looking at a picture. Except it's moving. Imagine what 1480i and p will look like. I imagine it'll be just like looking out your window.

I WISH I could!

Ever since games started supporting 480p on the PS2 I've wanted to see them in ED and HD. The only problem is myself, or even my parents, can't afford a HDTV that'd be a worthwhile investment.

Though I've recently started looking into DLP TVs for their more reasonable pricing and lower maintenance, though I find most only support up to 720p.

But from what I can tell from screenshots they are indeed pretty, I was amazed at how well a PS2 game could still look.
