Hi guys I just completed my install of the Matrix Infinity chip and burnt my first backup last night. I am using TDK 16x DVD+R discs and burning at 4x. So...I have ran into a few problems with the backups I have created so far.
1) At the load screen on Resident Evil 4 I select NTSC 60mhz and the picture works fine, but the game loads very very slow. During the video cut scenes it skips around a bit, but gameplay is pretty smooth. If I pause the game or open a door to go to the next part the game will take somewhere around 2 minutes to load or will freeze. Is this a media problem or did I burn the game wrong?
2) The second problem I am having is converting PAL to NTSC. I read many of the forums on AD but am not sure of the right solution. I read that my chip should automatically adjust the video, so does this mean you do not need to patch it with pal2ntsc? I read Tokijin's FAQs on how to patch etc. So I wanted to backup Fight Night Round 2. I used the Adrenaline patcher but that didnt help, I just see the running lines on the screen.
Any help with these issues would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Well first off you need to rebuild RE4 and burn at 2X and try that if not try some DVD-R media and it should work perfect For FightNight you still need convert it to NTSC use the search on here there is a step by step instructions
Resident Evil 4 doesn't need rebuilding, since you have an MI chip that is. You can booktype your DVD+R to a DVD-R using DVD Decryptor only if your DVD burner supports booktyping, download the latest firmware for your DVD burner, I can only imagine that a lot of burners would have that by now lol. Now, be sure to burn at like 1x or 2x, while there are a few games that needed to be burned at 4x or higher, RE4 isn't one of them. I hope this helps.
Is there somewhere I can learn more about booktyping. Ive seen that word somewhere before but dont know what it means. I have the RES EVIL 4 file on iso on my computer. So should I load it with Alchol then use DVD Decrypter to booktype it to DVD-R? How does that work?
Im going to try what you said and burn it with booktyping at 2x. Ill let you know if it works out. I burned God of War also which was running flawlessly cut scenes and everything, until about the 4th movie cut scene, then it started skipping. Is this because of my media?
OK I updated Nero...updated to latest firmware for my burner...reburned Res Evil 4 at 2.4x (this was the lowest it would burn at for some reason) Now the game is working 10 times better than before, but it still skips a little bit and it will freeze every now and then. Im thinkin its gotta be the media. Any other ideas?
