Try "DVD Decrypter" works everytime for me, either downloaded ps2 games or backups from originals.

yes, for most games it is as simple as that.
Just make sure you read a few post and do your back ups on QUALITY
media, and know that your PS2 has to be modded to play back ups

Mod chips are, by far, better! With a quality chip, you don't have to worry about rebuilding, patching, etc. You will also have flash updates, and don't have to swap out your games every time.

Yep. I'd say either the Matrix Infinity or DMS4 Pro/Lite, and they probably run around $50 for the chip....with more costs for professional installation.

That's the same mindset that I have. I already have SM 3.6 and it works fine for me. Besides, I actually like rebuilding and patching games!

Which banner are you talking about? The flashing userbars or the "Jamaal10" one?

i used Swap Magic for a little bit when i first started out, and it will work. But over time it gets to be a real pain having to do a lot of extra steps just to back up some games.
If you do decide on a chip in your slimline, make sure you also get a laser fix installed, it is about $10. most good sites will install them free when they do a chip.
a chip just has so many things that it does better than Swap Magic.
