Pioneer 840W 7.1-Ch. THX-Certified A/V Home Theater Receiver
Model: VSX-1015TX.I have the followint components cable box, dvd, dvdrecorder,cd player.and of course sony tv.i have hooked up all the outputs useing s video to their proper input in the back of the receiver, and i also ran a s-vodeo monitor out to the input s-video on the back of the tv.all i can get is cable i can switch to dvd nothing i see the cable pic.my cable in is going to the dvd /vcr combo then out to the tv. I also ran the auto setup that the receiver runs for setting up your unit.I never did mention audio i am mostly running fibre optic.

If all of your video is run through your receiver, then all you need to do on your TV is switch to your S-Video input. Then to change sources/inputs, you will have to do that on the receiver, not the TV. Hope that helps.

I undestand the point of changing the mode on the receiver,dvd,cd,tv/sat.and so on. you mentioned the input s-video on the tv to change it.i never knew you had to change it i was under the impression when you plugged something in s-video it bypassed all other jacks.

thanks for any help

You actually have to manually change the input on the TV. If you wanna watch what's plugged into component for example, you have to switch your TV to the component input and your receiver to the correct source (same for S-Video). I recommend running your video directly to your TV if you can but some TV's don't have enough inputs so you can't help it.

wow homie, i've never heard someone say that, why would you think an s-video connection would bypass all others?
