bought the godfather for ps2 and used the dvd decrypter to burn it onto my hard drive and then onto a dvd+r. at first i did it at x4 and when i used swap magic to play it it was slow and it froze a lot, so then i tried at x2 x6 and then x6 with alcohol 120% but it was still slow so now i'm just left with a bunch of coasters,

PLEASE HELP!!!

What type of media are you using? Also, have you tried updating your drive's firmware lately? If not, there is a link in my profile page for that.

First off, you're gonna want to get rid of those Imations! They will cause you too many problems. You will want to get better quality media, like Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Sony, Philips, Ritek or TDK. When you do this, you will want to get 8X DVD's. Using 16X DVD's for games will also, more than likely, cause a lot of playback problems. If you do get 8X discs, you will want to burn it at 4X.

Edit: Forgot to add this...some PS2's prefer DVD-R over DVD+R, so you might have to mess around with both to see what works better.

always use quality media like taiyo yuden or verbatim,, cheap media will cause ur laser problems in the long run as well as it will not boot the games properly. by sheer experience the best disks are 8x DVD-R so u shud be looking for verbatim or taiyo yuden 8x DVD-R,
usually -r is more compatible with ps2s rather than +r and when burning ALWAYS burn at half the maximum write speed so with 8x dvds you should be looking to burn at 4x
hope this helps.

Use Good Media burn no faster than 4x and if you're going to use the +R format booktype to DVD-ROM for added compatibility...
