I copied a home movie of a band on my computer, and I was wanting to know if there was a way to get the audio of the mpeg movie so I can make mp3 audio files and burn them to a cd.

you should be able to extract the audio from a video file using VirtualDub.

For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:
