burning DVD but not playing

I'm using DVD X Copy Platinum with no problems but since I reformatted my PC,Win XP, the burned DVD wont play. I 've installed the firmware (Toshiba - SD R5272)from Hijacker but wont work /error.
Before this problem, I was able to d/load the firmware on this website/forums but not from hijacker and it worked well.
Pls. help me on this again.
