JaguarGod, got to start this off by thanking you for all your great insights!!!! I'm kinda new at this and I need some help in identifing/deleting the corrupted cells in Sony's ARccOS, specifically with Memoirs of a Geisha (or Capote). I've read both your newbie's guide and the advanced instructions but I'm still not sure how to identify the problematic cells.

well....... I used the latest version of DVDFab Decryter (3/23/06) to rip then used DVD-RB Pro/CCE to encode to burn with IMG! Perfection. This was the first time I came across a movie that I couldn't use DVDDecrypter! But I am told there are many that can't rip with DVDD! I just haven't come across any till now! I'm lucky, but DVDFab Decrypter did the job!

use dvd region+css free and shrink dvd at same time, works like a charm, no special tricks. never had a movie i couldn't crack through, ever!

Currently using the following w/o any problems to date:
AnyDvd, DvdDecrypter, DvdShrink, DvdFab Gold, DvdIdle Pro, Dvd Region-CSS Free, CloneDVD2, Nero Ultimate.
Working for a major DVD Distributor has its perks.

@IHoe

Saw your movie listing in your sig. That is one serious list! I only have 191 so far, but I'm seriously working on increasing that number.

@wvbadboy

All you really need is the latest from DVDFAB Decrypter 2.9.7.3 (one of the greatest FREE ripper) and VobBlanker (greatest craps/junks, invalid data structure/navigation "processing" FREE tool). The main reason I throw in VobBlanker is for "security" purpose only and because it will fix/correct any of the latest junk structure(s).

To make a long story short; first step is to rip the movie via DVDFAB Decrypter (get the latest from DVDIdle.com) into your hard drive. Now try to "transcode" or shrink the movie with DVD Shrink or Nero Recode 2 (your choice), if DVD Shrink & Nero Recode 2 failed to transcode.

Second step is to load/import your already ripped "VIDEO_TS.IFO" into VobBlanker, make a new folder for your new VIDEO_TS folder or file (remember, you need this new VIDEO_TS file/folder to transcode with DVD Shrink or Nero Recode 2, once VobBlanker is successfully completed). Now click on "PROC.ALL" at the right, then click "PROCESS" at the bottom. Just sit tight and VobBlanker will be done within 5 minutes of "processing" and "filtering" any left over junks/craps.

Once VobBlanker is done, load/import your newly created VIDEO_TS file/folder that VobBlanker created into DVD Shrink or Nero Recode 2 and continue on with your usual transcoding process.

That's it... easy as sippin' on some Corona. Best of lucks and happy burning!!

WARNING: Do not "update/upgrade" your SAMSUNG BD-D5XXX series (Bluray Player), or else you cant enjoy any of your movie files.
