Ok,right now im using decent media(ritek g05)but when I play the backups the laser makes a really loud sound when reading the disc.I was just wondering if the really high end media like Yudens have the same problem,or is it as quiet as an original PS2 game when being read.

it is most likely your PS2 an not the media.
When i used my V7 with fliptop it was kind of load, but worked every time. And it was loud no matter what media i used.
You can try it and see if you get different results with different media, but i have a feeling that you will not.

I agree with Steimy. I use Taiyo Yuden 8X DVD-R's on my V7 and get the same volume of sound that I do with lower quality media.

Im using Taiyo Yuden 8X DVD+R's on my V9 modded with a DMS4 E.Z.I and Its as quiet as the origional. If I use other media like maxell or TDK there is an slight increase in noise I have noticed. Mabey its that TY makes their blanks "thinner??"

i used to use DVD-R in my slim but stopped using that type of media becasue it made a lot of noise while loading the game, after i switched to DVD+R media i never heard the noises again, so i have stuck with DVD +R media ever since.
