Do I need to patch if I booktype?

I burned a few backups before updating my nero. Before it did not automatically booktype to DVD-ROM. My question is do I still have to patch the PAL games with PAL2NTSC to play it on my TV or when it booktypes during the burn will it play fine without having to patch?

booktyping has nothing to do with the screen rate (PAL or NTSC)
You will still need to patch it.
All booktyping does is write the disc as a DVD-Rom instead of a DVD+R so that it is more compatible, as original games are DVD-Rom.

I thought the MI chip was supposed to automatically adjust the PAL games to be played like NTSC. How does that work? Because I know I can go into the config settings and set it to NTSC or PAL.

some chips can. mine has 3 modes.
1. Force NTSC (all games forced to NTSC screen rate)
2. Force PAL
3. Normal.

These are all in the settings menu.
there is also a "Y" position fix setting on mine that when set will make sure the screen is center properly

are we supposed to guess what modchip you're using and what it does? I think MI does have a force NTSC mode which you mentioned in which case you don't need to patch you just use the force NTSC mode (i don't know if it does it automatically or not).

Sorry i forgot to mention that I had that chip...OK I burnt it without patching and it works fine. Thanks for the help fellaz!
