nero will allow you to back them up. does your ps2 play the original ps2 cd games? as some have problems with them.
also what media are you using? make sure you use quality brand media. burn them at a slow speed also.

the ps2 has seperate laser adjustment for cd & dvd it could be that the CD pot needs adjusting.

all origionals work on my ps2.i know Nero will work, but what prodedure do you go through, i have tried using , dvd copy, and cd, copy, but can not find out the method to use without making electronic pancakes. i am using tesco cd-r to burn onto, and i have no problems with these discs before.i have read that they can be put on to a dvd disc, as i know that my ps2 likes the ones i`ve got. please help?

hi
i dont know who makes tesco cd's but try some sony's or verbatims or other quality brand media. burn at the slowest speed possible.
i think this is a media issue so change brand & see if that helps.
to use Nero you just select copy cd so it sound like you are doing this right.

to put on a dvd here is a guide -
