I tried ripping the new Battlestar Galactica (mini series, first season, second season) but none of them will play back on my laptop.
All of the other movies I burned using the exact same methods and media work find. (they ALL have copied okay for the past couple of years now) Does anyone know if they are using special copy protection on Battlestar Galactica?

thanks for any help,
Leee

Won't play back? Do you mean they wouldn't rip to the HD? It sounds like you weren't able to bypass the protection.

Actually I discovered that the DVD will play on my standalone DVD player as well as the burner on my PC. (It did burn sucessfully to my HD) But when I put it in the laptop DVD player it just starts to load and then keeps clicking.

As I said, all the other DVDs I burned using the same software and media play fine. I'm going to try and upgrade the firmware on the DVD drive on my laptop, hopefully that might help.

Basically, I was just wondering if anyone had heard of any special copy protection being used on these DVDs

Thanks again,
Leee

@Leee
Upgrading the firmware may do the trick - one thing it does is help the drive with read/write strategies on media.
Once you ripped them all copy protection should have been removed.
