When copying my dvds during playback the movie freezes. I dont think my dell dvd burner is the problem since I borrowed an external one and still have same problem. I let myself get conned into buying one of software programs that scan your system and cleans out the errors and I still cant copy anything. I have tried other software with noi success. Any ideas??

What program are you using to make backups? What speed are you burning your movie? What kind of media are you using? Give us a little more info so we can help you out even better =)

Ive been using intervideo.Since my problem started ive tried clone dvd and dvd copy tools. My burner came in my dell computer its an nec DVD+RW nd-2100ad. I cant seem to find what speed it copies at. Hope this helps.I use memorex DVD+R at 16X

Well i wasn't able to read dvd's at the desired speed and sometimes it would freeze on me. I flashed my burner to a ND2510A and tada. Everything works fine.
P.S I have the same model burner as you do.
