Im getting a 360 in 6 days and i only kave a 34 cm (14") Televison in my bedroom and have had it for about 5 years. Im only 13 and cant afford a large hi def T.V so I thought that a 17" LCD monitor would do the trick, the monitor can support resoloutins of 1024x768 and has an 8ms refresh/response rate the name of the LCD is a BenQ FP71G+S . Do you think that this would be good for the 360 or should I justt get a 20"/51 cm Standard definition T.V.

no that should work fine
are you going to use xbox live???
the reason i ask is the 360 is built around xbox live so a hole lot of features in the dashboard will be locked out unless your on live including downloadable content and all games you play on the 360 are live enabled so unless you use live you will receive a cannot log onto xbox live error everytime you run a game

any type of lcd monitor will work but it needs to be a lcd monitor or a flat panel monitor
but you shouldn't have any problems
and xbox live silver works just fine but if you purchase prepaid cards like 12 month cards you do not need a credit card to sign up for xbox live gold just keep purchasing xbox live gold cards
there 49.99 for 12 months and no credit cards are needed

Aren't LCD comp monitors hi-def?
I am pretty sure they are if the res is 720 or above because that is what the monitor I said before is.
@ *Agent47*
Again the monitor i said above is hi-def (im pretty sure) so why don't you go for this or similair.

1280 x 720 = The equivalent of 720p (a HDTV resolution)
I'm having exactly the same problem as you, trying to find a LCD monitor. I'm also 13 aswell, lol.

But the CRT is cheaper and aren't CRT's supposed to have better resoloutions than LCDs and refresh rates. So what im asking here is which is better for gaming CRT or LCD?

I asked myself this many times before going to Quake Con, Go with the CRT if you play video games for at least above 10 hours a day like me, but if you only play games for like 5 hourz a day go with the LCD, the LCD doesnt have much fun factor in it I think, yea on second thought go wit the CRT.

i was thinking if i am gonna end up buying a lcd screen again i might as well keep my present one.
so are there no small HD tv's. under 22"???
i have seen another lcd screen which is really good, its a tv but with a built in dvd. the dvd player is built in sideways. no cd tray comes out, u just push ur cd, dvd in and it will play.
some might say if the dvd/cd is inserted sideways than it will make the screen more bulky but in fact it is still extremely thin.
i am really suprised. i cant find a link to it.
but thats certainly my first lcd screen if i dont get a HD.
