just wondering....the one i bought froze up in minutes, sent it to microsoft, only to get a new one sent back to me...now, sure, it'll work for about 20 minutes or so, then freeze up again...should i give up, or just continue to send it back to microsoft?

well this is not new at all. Everyone knows by now that xbox 360 has problem with CPU, GPU and power supply overheating.
Since you sent the xbox to m$ and they sent you a refurbish one. Then you had problems again and sent it back to them. Then they will send another refurbish one for you.

Never had a freeze on mine, I guess I am lucky, but I am sure from all the news I heard that I will get one, pretty soon.

That don't make sense if you just bought it why didn't you take it back 2 the store u got it from for a new 1 instead of sending it back to MS for a refurbished 1. If the 360s keep locking up why don't you just get your $ back? I think there's a lot of Play Station fans running around bad mouthing the 360 trying to prevent people from purchasing 360s

of course, i already tried taking it back to the store, but their policy is, that if there is something wrong with your 360, then you need to call microsoft and have them take care of it for you...i was pretty pissed off when they told me that, but, im just gonna keep doing what i gotta do until i get what i paid for. the only way i could have gotten my money back from that store, is if it wasn't brand new, and they sold me a console that was bought back to the store from another customer.

So does it freeze up all the time? Or does it only freeze up every so often? I would still send it back for another one.

mine works fine
i havent had a problem but the overheating issue has started to happen more often because people that live in apartments have a high risk of frying the xbox due to power surges this happened to my freind he has fried
6 playstation 2's
8 dreamcasts
10 gamecubes
12 playstation 1's
reason the building has a power tolerrence circuit that is required now by law but it can mess up certain electronics
the hole point of the power system is to make sure you are not stealing power but the side affect is then there isn't enough power going to the system to keep it running saftly and creates a load on the power system in the building

Well mine finally froze last night, for first time since jan/2006, turned the 360 on , and it decided to crash on me. And i have one big fan over the 360 and a laptop cooling pad under the 360. That power bricks color was green when this all happened, sometime i see it turn orange, weird. So i called M$ and took care of the problem, the lady who took my call was super nice. Well thats what happened.

well my friend's 360 doesn't really freeze, but it gets really laggy sometimes (when he's playing a single player game). Like we were playing Oblivion and it came to "loading area..." and it stayed that way for a minute. what's up with that? is there something wrong with the 360? cause on mine the "loading area..." is there for like 2 seconds.

my 360 has only crashed once. and i know if its a heat related crash and this wasnt. just a bit of misfortune. maybe the processor (only 1 being used) had 1 too many branch misses and/or a few cache misses and it screwed it up. (yes that can happen)
Don't judge the consoles by specs, more isnt always better, espec in PS3 specs.i know the truth, ask if u wanna know.......
