God of War backup 3.47GB unpacked? Do I still need Dual Lyr?

I have God of War and have unpacked the files with winrar and to my surprise the image was only 3.47GB in total size. I wasn't sure if it should be burned to a dual layer disc or not. I have dual layer discs all ready to go because I kept reading that dual layers are necessary to burn God of War. As always my question is what should I do? I would happily test stuff out, but afterdawn has been far too reliable for me to just waste a disc on one of my pittiful tests. I would very much appreciate an answer. Thanks everyone.
