I own the 360 component av cable and the VGA one. On my LG 32" TV the component cables makes the colours blur into each other and the dark clours (shadows etc) are overly black. PGR3 is a prime example as you cannot see the track if there is a shadow from the building (even worse when using the in car view).

The VGA cable however has a perfect picture (using a VGA to DVI adaptor for my tv) at any resolution, colours are vibrant, no ghosting etc.

My problem is that I only have 1 DVI input (component out of the question for the above reason) and I currently have 2 HD inputs, that of the 360 and my HDTV (Telewest TVDrive using a HDMI to DVI adaptor.) Again component looks crappy compared to the DVI). Both look great on DVI but I cannot find a DVI Selector/Switcher to swtich between the two without getting behind the TV and unplugging and plugging in etc.

I have tried the VS-461 (http://www.aten.com/products/productItem.php?pid=2005022216382600...)
DVI Selector, this works with the TVDrive (therefore it supports HDCP) and it even detects the input of the 360 (vga to dvi adaptor) as an amber light appears on the switcher, but when selected the picture remains black as it there is no signal at all.

Another TV with more inputs is the easy answer but this is not an option to me.

In summary:
- Component with 360 has a crappy image
- VGA to DVI adaptor for the 360 works great
- HDTV via Telewest (HDMI to DVI adapter) works great
- NEED A DVI SPLITTED THAT WORKS.....

Any help or suggestions or first hand experience of a solution would be appreciated......I expect this sort of question to become more widely asked when HDTV and HDDVD (Blue ray or not) players are available.

Try this:

Added:
The other issue to consider would be the type of connection you're using. There are different types of DVI: DVI-D (digital), DVI-A (analog) and DVI-I (both) and there are single link and dual link. See the following for an explanation:
http://www.datapro.net/techinfo/dvi_info.html

Obviously your tv can display both digital and analog thru DVI so the problem may be the connection from your switcher to the TV. You should probably make sure that the cable from the switcher and the TV can carry both digital (from the HDTV) and analog (from the 360). Maybe you can still use your VS-461 as long as you have the proper connection.
