pioneer 104 and DVD-RW's

I have a pioneer 104 firmware 1.4 and using windows XP.

When I burn a DVD-RW (ive tried most including datasafe DVD-RW , Verbatim DVD-RW and Traxdata DVD-RW)using DVDcreator 6 or latest nero i get the message that burn went well .

But when i try to erase the DVD it says internal error.

Anybody having similar probs

Is it the firmware version ??

What will work with the drive ???

Please help

Pioneer 104 (f/w 1.31) WinXP Pro

I've had a problem on one Datasafe DVD-RW but they are only cheap & thats one out of 15 or so.
Only got two makes Datasafe & Mirror , the Mirror DVD-RW seems to be top quality but only done 2 writes/erase so yet to prove itself in my opinion.

I d/led the file to downgrade from 1.40 to 1.31 but when i click on the exe it says do you wnat to upgrade from 1.40 to 1.31 ???

I forget the URL but if you search for a Flash Firmware Forum you'll see posts/threads on this subject matter.

I personally get on fine w/ 1.31 (and a lot of others too as I have & you will read)
But then of course there are others who swear by 1.40.


The choice is & always will be yours!

Are you using latest Nero 5.5 to erase? It works fine with my Verbatim DVD-RW
