Hiya I've been wonderind whether to get a HD for the PS2, as anyone got a HD?
Also i wondered how it worked, do you have to have a modchip? i've already got one but i was just wondering.
I've looked at packages with 250GB HD with HDadvance and a NET ADAPTER? Whats the net adapter for? what does HDadvance do?
Thanx

Well i have a friend who got one, he has a chipped V5/6 i gamve him.
It has a DMS4 Pro which is the perfect chip for a hard drive as it has many features just for them.
He can take a game, copy it to the HDD from the PS2 drive, and then play it from the HDD.
He can also format the HDD with the DMS4 Pro chip. And it (DMS4 Pro) also has a built in cheat device for games played from the HDD where you enter cheats directly into the flash memory of the chip, so there is no need for a disc like Gameshark or AR Max.

The HDD is great because you save your laser, you will have much faster load times, and it will also run some games better.
He had a few that had slight video glitches, he said once he put them on the HDD they played flawless.
An HDD can also be used to store and run certain programs from with the right chip as well.
The HDD hooks up to the PS2 and also to the network adapter so you will need both, chip or no chip.
Usually the adapter is just used for it's namesake, playing games online through a network connection to your PC.

WOW! I think i'm going to try to look for a UK based website that sell them. Can you recommend any? Will it work with an MX4V1.1 modchip? It'd be great if it did.

You should just save your money and try and figure out a way to install HDloader onto your memorycard

So if you have a mod chip you dont have to buy HDLoader or HDAdvance? Will an iso work just as well? I have a DMS4 Lite if it makes a difference.

no, only certain one's like DMS4 Pro have a built in HD Loader program. for the rest of them you will still need it.
the DMS4 Lite does not have it because it only runs on the ToxicBIOS where the DMS4 Pro does because it uses the ToxicOS which has more features. http://www.teamtoxic.com.cn/

JParks, that would be a Matrix Infinity chip so it may have those features. Depends on the flash version that you have as they are always releasing new one's with new features. I would check into it here http://www.infinitymod.com/cgi-bin/matrix/site.pl?page=news
make sure you always keep the flash upgrades updated to the newest version. Version 1.10 is what they list for that chip so it may be the newest one as some chips may use the newer versions where yours doesn't. It has no mention of having any hard drive support for that chip or the flash you have. So i think you still need HD Loader

Yes, the chip has flashes you can download for it, but you have to make sure that you get the right flash for your chip or you could really mess things up.
Like the DMS4 Pro and DMS4 Lite have 2 different flashes.
and there are several Matrix flashes out there like V1.82
But i would make sure that the flash you want is for your chip before you get it.

Yes, I installed a Flash upgrade and i need HD loader or HD advance from somewhere as my chip doesnt have built in HD loader. I need a PAL version of it. I obviously can't be bothered to sign up to a UK based website so i want to download a PAL version of any. Where i work they are always throwing out computers and hard drives I'll simply ask my boss for one. He will give me one, hes given me a computer before!
I need a PAL version so please put a link on? anybody that knows a torrent site or website that has one
