DVD BURN ERROR

Using a Memorex dvd+/- dl burner and nero to burn dvd-video files. Problem occurs when the burner process quits randomly sometimes at 12% and sometimes at 62% but continues to think it is working. I get no error prompt or anything always have to abort then i have coasters. Out of the last 100 pack of DVD+R disc 17 of them have been ruined. Not the media happens on all kinds and not the burner because I had replaced it and problem still happens.

Do you have everything not needed to burn the DVD shut down ... firewalls, anti-virus, spyware programs, SCREENSAVERS etc... they all need to be turned off ... Also, no multi-tasking ... as a matter of fact, don't even touch your mouse or PC durinig the burning process ...

thanks yes everthing is always shut down and i never multitask. also updated adaptec but has seems to have done nothing

Have you updated the firmware on your DVD burrner?

What version of Nero are you using?

Have you tried to uninstall Nero and go to Nero website and download the cleantool for regestry/drivers to make sure everything is uninstalled. Then try to re-install Nero.

Have you ever had another burrning program on your PC like Roxio etc. If so make sure all is clean and clear off the PC. it could conflict with Nero.

check the fan
check DMA settings while your at it aswell
