Recieved my shiny new KH2 import the other day. After using the PAL option on my Swap Magic DVD Loader Disc and sticking the game in the PS2, everything apears to work ok. The annoying part is, when you get to FMV's or storyline clips, the audio skips a lot. I also noticed that the lipsync in game, even with text boxes, was slightly off.
This obviously detracts from the glamour and enjoyment of the game, so I've set out to find a way to fix it. I found that if I select NTSC on my swap magic boot, the clips play fine with the sound perfect. However, my TV only supports a PAL signal, so on the NTSC setting, the screen rolls uncontrolably and produces a black and white picture.
I had a flick over the net, and found myself this extremely handy app that I've used with great success before.
I did a burn on a really bad quality disk (OfficeMax - Never EVER use them for movies/games. I only used it coz thats what I had at hand) at 4x speed. I whacked it in the playstation and it booted up quite nicely with swap magic. It did away with the big ugly black bar at the bottom of the screen (This is because that app has a Y-fix with it. Swap magic doesn't) and got to the menu perfectly. However, I tried to start a new game, and it wouldn't read the disc properly. Some people have reported long loading times for some burns, so I waited about 30 seconds (probably should have waited longer) and nothing happened.
So, after ALL that, my question is this. If I get myself some good quality discs (AKA TDK/Verbatim/Sony) and burn it at 4x with the "PAL" fix, will that still kill the sound on the clips?
If anyone wound like a walkthrough on how to PAL patch or NTSC patch an ISO, feel free to ask!
Chances are burning onto a Verbatim DVD-R 8x at 4x (half max) will fill those problems of yours. I patch all of my downloaded NTSC games and burn them onto verbatim DVD-R and 4x and have backed up over 80+ games.
Im a PAL gamer and importing a NTSC version of KH2 and my TV supports an NTSC signal. So if i set swap magic 3.6 to NTSC will i have the sync problem that Aurilion had?
With swap magic 3.6 and an NTSC playback compatible TV, you will be fine. Audio and Video should be perfect if you select NTSC with your swap magic discs.

Also, I tried the patching with the NTSC to PAL program, and the menu and normal gameplay come out beautifully, however audio is still "munted" in the clips and FMV's. Its a real shame, because I've had nothing but success with the patcher before this game.
I picked up a NTSC compatible TV for 250 bucks. I thought given the number of imports I have, it probably wouldn't hurt. Everything runs perfectly now. Thanks for all the help :)
Aurilion, now that you have an NTSC compatible TV, do you use the original copy of Kingdom Hearts 2 that you imported and does it go off screen at all because i heard that when you play in a NTSC format, the game is off screen and has a large black area on top of the screen and you cant play the game.
The vision seems to be fine actually. It's completely full screen when I use the Original import with NTSC swap magic selection. No black bars to be seen anywhere! I had a msg from another poster saying that getting an RGB cable and using that may fix the jitters and screen position. I'm yet to test that myself though, but at 5 or so bucks a cable, its worth a try!
