could use help please.I've been using dvd shrink and have had a lot of failures so i am going to try ratdvd.Can anyone tell me after running my movies for backup through dvd fab express and then through ratdvd i save the file to desktop. How then do I burn it through Nero.I have also just down loaded the dvd rebuilder is it better again than rat and shrink because it looks a little complicated to a newie like me. Also i have seen some programmes that put a dvd to svcd. What is the best free programme to do this and is the quality good? I also have dvd decryptor on my machine as well. i'm running xp sp2 512 ram 2gig processor. Can anyone help please as I am getting very depressed at spending so much time on backing up my collection to find out they just breakup in my player. Regards "going bald quick"

welcome to AfterDawn! There are plenty of ways to backup your collection. I use DVDRebuilder Pro/CCE for best quality and let it burn with IMGBurn (or DVDDecryter)! Shrink hasn't been updated for a long time now so it won't work good on newer movies if you are ripping with it! you should have success, now. Just more advise.... use good media, that stops a lot of problems so there will be less failures... Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, Sony, Maxell to name a few. Rule of thumb: Buy the disks Made-IN-Japan... they are the better ones.

To IHoe, Many thanks for your suggestions.So far the ones I have done have worked well. I am usind the free version dvd fab express and good old DVD Shrink but I also worked out a little bit about re-authoring ............What a little beauty. So far all I know is how to drag and drop the main movie and set start and end frames can anyone give me some more tips on using this great tool PLEASE?
Also I have found that burning the discs at a slow speed seems to help a lot in the quality. Once again thanks for all the tips this is definitely one of the good websites to visit.
