Hey guys. This thread is to anyone that has or had the retail USA version of this great game called TENCHU: WRATH OF HEAVEN.
I need your help.
For all of you that have this game, I need you to go right ahead and pop the game into your PS2, start a new game and select Rikkimaru on the character selection screen.

Now, I need you to tell me what happens, what do you see inmediately after you select Rikkimaru, till the moment you actually start playing the game, and where do you start playing it.

Its an easy and quick task, and will help me out a lot.

I hope this helps, I'm using the PAL version so it might not help too much.. and also i'm very sorry for the long reply but the internet in my house screwed up after a while. Well this is what happens:
I select Rikimaru,
I see him strike a sword
The screen fades into black and I see "Now Loading" for a while in the bottom right
Then I see rikimaru look at some wall with this strange green circle type thing.
Then I see him move around a bit and then i'm in this place with water dropping down and there are branches around me

Great, thats exactly what I see on my copy. I asked about this cause that whole green circle/portal thing doesnt make any sense, I dont understand about that.
I mean, you select your character, and then you see a portal, and you dont quite understand the plot or where are they going with this.
I mean, there's GOTTA BE some missing FMV or movie between the character selection till the green circle portal scene, otherwise that scene doesnt make any sense to me.
Does it make sense to you?

Not at all really.. I have NO clue about it. Maybe I should look around the internet and find out some way o.O And there can't be a missing FMV if we both are using retail versions. If I find anything I'll tell you about it ^^

Heh, damn they suck.

I remember that made no sense. I think it was supposed to be Rikki' somehow getting the hell out of wherever he was (hell?), or after returning from the land o' "Donuts from Heaven" (((secret level thing))).

Oh yea! The secret level "through the portal". He must be returning from there.. Or something to do with that. From what I saw when playing the game that was the only thing related to a portal.
