I read this in a magazine today, but i dont have a copy with me. It says that in a few months Sony are to release PS1 games to download from them and put onto your memory stick!!! (Dreams of Metal Gear Solid 1 being played anywhere). There is apparently a cost but we dont know how much!

Yeah it's awesome news, cant wait to play tomb raider 1/2, Metal Gear Solid, Syphon filter 2 and........Final Fantasy 7/8 :D Only bad thing i heard about it was that you'll need to pay for the games even if you already own them (damn you Sony) altought it is a small price to pay for such great games on the psp :)

I agree, but hopefully if Sony can get the price right (a.k.a very cheap lol) then we will all be happy. I don't want to have to fork out a lot for something I already own.

awesome, but old news... i heard that the price will be 15 dollars a game, but that was a rumor, so i'm not sure how true that statement is. but if it is 15 bucks, thats pretty cheap.

15 might be cheap but i still think that's a rip off the ps1 is dead and so are the games however good they may be, 5-10 would more appropriate imo.

Will their ps1 games be available for download on www.playstation.com? (How much space will it take on the memory stick? About 50 MB per game?)
If I insult you...don't get offended...my insults are "friendly insults"...I know this sounds stupid (ridiculous) but I am fet up of writing, "no offense" in my posts...

2.0 firmware and under won't give up their firmwares...I wouldn't...to all people willing to give up...I have something to say...you will regret it!!
By the way....I have 2.50!!! I am so angry!! This should help my patience for playable psp game backups...I hope I do not have to upgrade to 2.6 or 3.0 (that is an upcoming firmware...just saying for all u people who don't know) or anything...someone please tell me if I will have to or not...
Thx, in advance...

Not sure how this would work with some games. Surely the controls would have to be re-written to allow for the lack of shoulder buttons etc...
Certainly wouldn't be worth upgrading for, and quite frankly a charge per game would make it too expensive. A one off membership fee or something may be acceptable to more people.

its definitly should be membership over per game. however, i still don't think a lot of these games will be as enjoyable because of the controls. i mean seriously, how can u account for 2 less buttons? its gonna be pretty dificult.
i have to be honest i want to play crash bandicoot 1-3 that will be great, but other than that some games will just be harder to play with two less buttons.

in response to the first post, you can already play metal gear 1 on psp, just get a nes or msx2 emulator. however, if you are talking about metal gear SOLID, then if you research, you might find a ps1 emulator for a psp, and download metal gear SOLID. metal gear 1 was released in 1987 for the msx2, and was later ported to the nes and, a few years ago, it was released for mobile phones in japan.
