Ok i sent my ps2 to get it fixed and modded with the matrix(from a reliable source) He recieved my ps2 and said that he repaired the ps2 but he has no more matrix infinities. He has offered me a crystal lite 1.1 chip which he states is about the same as the matrix. Would you wait for the matrix or just go along with the crystal? All i want to do is play DVD+R backups on my V7 ps2, can i do that with the crystal chip?

Yes it can
but just make sure that he installs the hacked firmware
the official firmware wont let you play any backups
