Which of these 2 are better?

i can get a 50 stack of taiyo yuden 8x dvd-r for $20-25. i just bought 2x 25 stacks of Verbatim 16x DVD-R w/ AZO for $8 each @ bestbuy. they had a sale on these.

which is better?

i've already burned quite a few games using my 1st batch of Verbatim 16x DVD-R's w/ AZO, and all my backups work perfectly. i have a v14 with Crystal chip 1.1

i know both are high quality 1st class media. verbatim is much cheaper

Taiyo Yuden is considered the best media worldwide. However, theres not much point in switching media especially if the verbatims worked flawlessly for you, and if they are cheaper for you, I see no point in switching. Stay with Verbatim.

well, i wouldn't really know if they're bad until my laser dies because it's been reading crappy disks. heck, cheap dynex dvd+r's work fine on my ps2 as well, but they're going to kill my ps2 sooner or later

All the more reason to stick with Verbatim.

no, i'm saying i can't say they're good disks if they just work fine. bad disks wear out the laser.

If you're worried about excessive wear and tear on your laser, I wouldn't worry to terribly much about the Verbatim's. They're pretty decent disks, I use them myself. I don't think the amount of laser wear they cause is going to be THAT much different then what you'll get with the Taiyo Yuden's.

Like Mik3h said, if they're working for you, stick with them.
