Hi,
Hope you can help as over the years of try to work it out with Nero Support I have got absoutly nowhere!

B'Ground: I shoot home vid using a JVC in 16:9 on a DV Tape. I then capture to the PC and edit them into small clips (say 5 Mins each). I then compile these into a DVD - all no probs with Vision 4.

What I Want: I want to save the edited 16:9 AVI (DV) files for archival purposes as AVI (DV) files. This is no prob in say Ulead Video Studio (I get a proper 16:9 AVI/DV file saved with smart rendering - just copies the frames without titles and transitions = fast at top quality = perfect for me).

The Issue: Basically, all I can get out of Nero Vision is a re-encoded 4:3 image with black top/bottom bars if I use the standard Export to AVI option - not a real 16:9 file (worse still any moving text goes through the black bars!). If I muck around in the custom output under export I get some weird 5:4 aspect ratio file. These obviously re-encode the file as well which I'd like to aviod. Nero Vision however creates a proper 16:9 MPEG file.

The Solution: I presume that Nero needs a 16:9 aspect ratio option under the Export --> AVI (like with MPEG files) - but has anyone got any work arounds otherwise I will stick to Capture, Edit, Export in Ulead Video Studio, then bring the exported into Nero Vision to create the DVD's (note: Video Studio sux at building mixed 16:9 Video and 4:3 JPEG Slide Shows DVD's which Nero excells at!)
