I have a Sony DRU450A ans it sucks it has focus and tracking errors all the time about 3 of 4 discs what drive should i get to replace it. something that wont suck so bad after using it. Are all sony drives this shity?

Some of the sony drives are rebadges from other brands:
Dru 700A/710A/and 800A are made by lite-on.
Either the Dru 810 or 820 is a rebadged benq 1640?
I'd take any of those drives. The other sony models? NOT!
I'd rather have a genuine Benq 1640/1650/or 1655-that has the lightscribe. I've got 4 benqs a burning,and phenomenal.
Unless you get a bum drive,which can happen on any brand name DVD-RW drive,these Benqs will drastically improve your backup success and stand alone playability. These drives booktype the plus format to dvd-rom,making for very high stand alone player compatability rate. These are the best burners for the money!Don't let their low price fool you. Plextor/Philips/and Sony are just a few of the brands that sell rebadged Benqs!That says something when Plextor uses another brand name of burner for it's own name-but with a different chip-set.
Plextors are among the finest,but cost is way higher,unless it's the PX- 740A.That's their budget benq 1640 rebadge.
Lite-ons also very good.
LG makes a quality drive,not sure what the good model #'s are.
