BIN - Cue Files: returning to native format

Okay, from what I've read here BIN-CUE files are images/windows files, obviously created from a source such as DVD, AVI, Divx, whatever.

Once these files are created from the source is it possible to reverse the process? Or it is possible to squeeze them down to a smaller size.

I have several BIN files in excess of 800MB, I want to back these up to CD-Rs', but they are obviously too large unless I use a non-standard CD-R, a pain I don't want to deal with. I unfortunately don't have a DVD recorder, or have any plans to purchase one in the near future, so these files just live on my hard drive which is fine unless the drive dies. I just want to be able to archive these files on a CD-R.
