Hi all,

I'm new to this business of backing up my PS2 games.

I have purchased the Swap Magic 3.6 and I have the "Fat" PS2.

Read through some of the tutorials, and have already bought a pack of 5 TDK DVD+RW's. I've tried burning my PS2 game to these, but it seems that the PS2 wont recognise it (Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition was the game).

Was it a mistake getting DVD+RW's?

I'm from the UK and am wondering what are the best DVD+/-RW's that will work that I can buy in the shops?

only modchip and some of the ps2 ver can read DVD-RW,
if you dont have modded ps2 and using swap magic disc then you have to use dvd-r/+r
ps:my ps2 ver modded with magic2 chip,it can read dvd-r/-rw,cuz my burner only can write -r

I have the version 9 PS2.

Will DVD-RW's work with these?

I guess the DVD+RW I have must be a different type.

I apologise for my noobism, this is my first try at backing up my PS2 games.

without mod chip,only can read dvd -r/+r not dvd -rw/+rw
im not sure about ps2 ver,may be you try it and test,if didnt works,then you have to use dvd -r/+r media

Yes, DVD-RW/+RWs are terrible for the PS2 and strains the laser.
