I want to get my movie files from my comp and burn it onto DVD so I can play it on my PS2, but I think I need to make it into an image. Any ideas? the type of files are "Video Clips" most are fan-subbed animes, few avi movies too. but it doesn't matter since it'll be an image anyway?

Well that's the problem, I don't know how to make it an image to burn. reason why I want it an image in the first place cause Alcohol doesnt recognise the movie files.

I have UltraISO and Alcohol 120% but had no luck in coverting it. any insight to this problem folks?

~~ thanks in advance

PS. I have DVD-R discs to burn on. And want to play them on my PS2

Ok you could purchase the full Nero suite it will do it all for you in the form of a wizard
but there are freeware alternatives you need to convert your movie into dvd compliant files first for this I recommend Sc Free video converter it does contain spyware but I've found it to be able to handle most imput formats run Spybot search and destroy after you install it to remove the spyware

http://www.freedownloadscenter.com/Utilities/Text_Editors_A-G/SC_...

now load your AVI into it and set your output to mpeg and output to MPEG-2 set your fps to 25 for PAL or 29.97 for NTSC under video settings set size to 720 X 576 for PAL or 720 X 480 for NTSC and hit convert
repeat for each AVI you now have a set of dvd compliant movies
download and install dvd styler

http://dvdstyler.sourceforge.net/index.html

this program will allow you to combine your various movies add menus and output an iso that you can burn with alcohol

Dvd decrypter cant do what you want it can only rip and burn dvds
free mpeg-2 encoders are hard to come by if you dont want to use the one I recommended(the spyware can be successfully removed with spybot)
you could try this

Old Freeware Version Of Divxtodvd
http://freedownload.softonic.de/windows/vsoDivxToDVD_setup_0.52.99.exe
if you like it you can buy the new updated version from VSO

you will have to load the video_ts folder it outputs into dvd shrink and change the options to do not split vobs into 1gb chunks then load the vobs into dvd styler to create your menus

another option would be to download tmpgenc it has a trial period mpeg-2 encoder 14 days I think

If I d/l Divxtodvd would that be all I need? I wouldn't need DVD Shrink will I? I just want to burn the video files into disc but Alchohol wont let me if it isn't an image file first.

If you only want to put one movie per dvd then dont worry about dvd styler the free version of DivXtoDVD that i gave will create a video_ts folder that you will need to turn into a iso to burn with alcohol or dvd decypter I'm not familiar with ultraiso it may do that for you but I know that DVD Shrink can output an iso that can be burnt succsesfully

Does DVD Style enable you to do more than 1 file at a time? for example you got like 6 episodes of south park (which is nowhere near your DVD limit) and want to burn all six on the disc, will it be better to use DVD style also?

Ok I'm going to wind this back a bit with some explanations
the movies you have on your HDD are Avis and "Video Clips" which Im guessing are wmv files you need to convert these to MPEG-2 files to put them on a dvd these files will become larger once converted to mpeg's dpend on the encoder you use you will either get a set of VOB files in a video-ts folder or you will get a file *.mpg hence the mpeg encoders I've recommended
In the case of the video_ts folder it is a full dvd structure ready to be placed on a disc in your case you only have DVD Decrypter and alcohol to burn with so you need to convert that video_ts folder into an iso hence dvd shrink
in the case of a *.mpg it is a dvd compliant mpeg but reqires further processing to be able to play as a dvd
now there are two way to place more than one movie on a disc

the first is DVD Shrink used in reauthor mode you can load several video_ts folders in and it will create a dvd iso with one movie following the other no menu though the guide for DVD Shrink is on my page follow the link in my sig

the second is via dvd styler here you can load multiple mpegs or vobs(but the VOB for a single movie must be joined they are cut up into 1gb chunks that is were I sugested DVD Shrink changeing the settings to donot split into 1gb chunks) and create menus linking to each movie and output an iso file
