DVD-R Backups Only Partially Working - Help Please!

My DVD-R backups work perfectly on my friends PS2. He has a modchip installed in it. The DVD-R Backup games boot up straight away and play perfectly. But here's the problem : I dont have a modchip, I use Swapmagic v3.6. The exact same backups, Burned exactly the same way have veried results with Swapmagic. Most of them don't boot and the ones that do take about 5 minutes to start then ages loading between scenes. The sound is not great in the games either. The make of DVD-R's im using are called "Dysan". I Thought it was the DVD-R's but if they work perfectly on my friend PS2 with a modchip why are they shit with Swapmagic?? Is it a problem with Swapmagic needing high quality DVD-R's or is it just the swapmagic setup itself?

Also ive tried using "Alcohol 120%" And "DVD Decrypter". DVD Decrypter seems to get better results with Swapmagic but the games are still shit as I described earlier. But they All Worked, Just...
When I used Alcohol 120% only 1 out of 10 Backups Worked.

PS - Im buying some "Verbatim" DVD-R's today to see if they work any better with swapmagic.

could be that your friend's system has a better laser than yours and can read that media properly.

yes, i agree. Different systems will give you different results. Plus a good modchip is just better all around then Swap Magic.
If they play on his then the back up is obviously a good one.
BUt cheap media like that will just not give you good results so the Verbatim should work better for you.
Also a chip will play games that need rebuilding and such, and Swap Magic will not so that could also be the problem.
