Advent Children CONVERSION PROBLEMS

I recently got Advent Children and I now want to burn it onto a DVD+R so I can play it on my ps2 or Dvd player. Now, this is my first time attempting to convert an AVI file onto DVD format, and I failed miserably. I tried following the guide that uses the program "AVI2DVD" and I followed the guide word by word step by step. Now, I put in all the settings, chose my aspect ratio, etc. At the end of the guide it says you're supposed to end up with an ISO file, and that it's supposed to take an hour or most at least. Now, with me it only takes about 20 minutes, and I dont end up with an ISO. Instead, I end up with a folder called "Avi2DVD_temp" and 4 files inside the folder: AudioStream 1 MP3 2CH.ac3, Avi2Dvd_Log, Avisynth_Script_File.avs, BeSweet_AudioStream 1 MP3 2CH.ac3. The folder is 92mb big, when an ISO is normally a few GB's. I don't know what I'm doing wrong here, I know I was supposed to end up with an ISO file at the end of the guide, and I followed it to the key. I'd appreciate ANY help, any help at all. If I absolutely can't do it with the program Avi2Dvd, then I wouldn't mind some suggestions on more effective means of getting this accomplished. Possibly other programs, guides, etc. Please keep in mind I am new to all this, so if you guys do decide to post other suggestions on how to get this accomplished, I'd prefer if if they're "noob friendly". Thanks in advance guys!

Sorry, my help won't be 'user friendly'.
Let's suppose you have an encoder; the one you prefere.
First, load the AVI with VirtualDub.
do 'file information' and see, under 'audio stream', which type of stream it is (usually it is MP3 or AC3, 48000 or 44100 hertz).
Do file___save WAV and call the 'wav' "audio.MP3" or "audio.AC3", depending on what you saw. If the audio is MP3, load it with FFMPEG GUI and transform it to AC3 384 kbps 48000 Hertz (or MP2 224 kbps 48000 Hertz).

Now for the video. Under 'video stream', in VirtualDub you'll have seen the resulution (say 640x360).
Do Video__Filters__Add, add the Resize filter, and choose 'new width' = 720; 'new height' = 720/640*360 (or 720/X*Y, if the video were XxY).
Check the 'expand frame and litterbox image' and insert 720x480 if your system is NTSC and 720x576 in your system is PAL. The remain of the screen will be filled by black bars (up and down).
Now [OK], do File___Start Frameserver (double click auxsetup.exe if you don't have the frameserving client installed) and save movie.vdr.
Now, with your favorite encoder, load movie.vdr ---> movie.m2v (the bitrate will be chosen by applying a bitrate calculator like DVTool, which gives you the 'ideal' bitrate once you give it the movie's length and the audio type (MP2 = standard VCD; Ac3 384 kbps = standard DVD, useful only if you have surround speakers).
Once you have a 4.1 GB M2V file and a 200-300 MB audio 48 kHz file, author a DVD (using any application you have, also the free IFOEdit is good) , create a VOB set + BUPs + IFOs.
Test th files with any Windows DVD player (maybe it will work only if you'll have a \DVD directory, containing an \audio_ts empty directory and a \video_ts directory containing all the files you made).
Burn the DVD set on a DVD using Nero.
Will you expect something simpler? Sorry. Read the tutorials in http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/ , they won't be much easier...

@ tot: well you got to admit aldaco12 does no his stuff and well i dont , but i wouldnt of used the program you had for the conversion.

1stly i would of downloaded avicodec and run your file through it and posted the results for us to see.

2ndly i'd worry about all the important details like audio /video streams and quality after i had successfully got a working version of your project.

3rdly tutorials are good but if you dont know where to look thats not much help.So here you go.
