I am converting MPEG-2 files into VOB using TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6 Then I am burning them to DVD using DVD shrink. The process seems to work fine, until I try to play the DVD in a standard DVD player. The sound is fine but the picture is not. During any scenes were there is movement the picture shakes to the point where it is hardly watchable. It?s not too bad on the still scenes though. I have tried the disks on 3 different DVD players with the same result. However if I play the disk on my PC using Windows media player the picture is stable.

Does anyone know how to fix this???

My Capture card is a winfast tv 2000 XP is this what you wanted to know. I can watch both the MPEG2 and VOB files OK on my PC which runs an internal intel 82845g graphics controller

I have been dealing with the EXACT same issue. However if I tried playing the dvd on a cheap player(rather than my JVC, or my brothers sony & panasonic) the movie would work fine.

Eventually I gave up wasting my DVD media on TMPGEnc and tried my hand at letting Nero Express 2 convert my files for me. 99% of videos have worked great since. Give that a shot if TMPGEnc keeps causing issues for you.

Hi Everyone Thanks for the info.

"irish80ca" Unfortunatley Nero was not able to compress the files enough to fit on a 4.7. However I was able to resolve the problem by using ConvertXto DVD. I guess I will have to buy it now.

"WaxaStyle" I found that mine was a bit of a pain to install as well I am tied up at work for the next couple of days but can offer this as a start If you are doing a reinstall make sure you uninstall all the software first remove the card from device manager then reboot with the cd in. When the system finds new hardware select the cd to install from and be patient. For some stupid reason the installer prompts you for information but continues to install anyway. Only answer one pronpt at a time and wait untill the installer looks like it has stopped before answering the next one. Hope this helps

Rod6725: I should have mentioned that part too. My files normally would be to large and Nero would not resize it for me. BUT if you click on the "MORE" option located at the bottom left of the program you could choose to lower the bitrate a little or chance the audio format to bring the file size down enough to fit a DVD-/+R disc.
