Lately i have been encountering a lot of burning issues with programs such as NERO, DVD Decrypter, & even Alcohol 120%, which is suprising because Alcohol 120%, was really out shinning NERO... but started acting up after a while... Well what i am trying to do is make some copies of some of my backups, and with that all i have to do is copy it 1:1, like im copying an audio cd... what i want to do requires no method, just a regular copy... anyways if i am doing a DVD Decrypter method read & burn... it works fine... but when i am copying a DVD Backup game those programs sometimes do not complete the copy... they all stop at the point of burning the ISO from my HD... Also i have tried this with more then 1 game, so im sure its not my games... I have a hunch that it might be my burner, but i thought i just upgraded my firware... I don't know... can anyone help me?

Oh yeah... here is the log from my last burn attempt in NERO...

i wouldnt use Nero anyways stick to alcohol and DvdD, but for the bad burns make sure you have the latest firmware for your dvd-burner that could be the problem....

Yep, check for firmware update and update your ASPI.dll file.. go here

http://www.nero.com/nero6/en/WNASPI32.DLL.html

and downlaod latest ASPI, copy that file into your c:\program files\nero\nero 7\core folder, and also into your c:\windows\system 32\ folder.

Then you can also change the I/O settings in dvd decrypter to ASPI if you want to.

Well personally I think it's a better I/O interface than the SPTI microsoft I/O, Nero uses this interface for ripping burning, but you can set it so that DVD Decrypter does too.. there's probably not much difference between them, but I find I get better results with ASPI.. if you're not having any probs using SPTI or whatever though, then that's up to you.. you can always give it a try and switch back to SPTI anyway.. but it's recommended if you use Nero to update the ASPI to newest version. Basically it's a driver update, which as you know can only help increase performance/stability in softwares.
