help! i got my 8x dvd-r's verbatim.my ps2 is verion7 and i use swapmagic 3.6. i burned them both at 4x using alcohol and dvd decryper. ive burned 2 games gun and ratchet & clank 3. gun booted strait away but then didnt go any further than the title screen. ratchet & clank booted instanly aswell but just stayed at a blank screen. please help

post the manufacturers id of the disk you are using, to do this open up dvd decryptor and on the right hand side their should be the manufacturers id in the information box,

ok those are quality verbatim disk, i dont know if its a problem with your swap magic, thats not really in my field, maybe someone else can help you with that but try burnig with dvd decryptor as it gives the best results, also make sure you switch of any applications running in the background to free up some ram and also switch of your internet from the plug as it also takes up lots of ram, if that doesnt work try cleaning your laser or rebuilding the file

Those are some fine points above, you should not use the PC for anything when burning.
Also updated firmware for your burner, if there is any, can solve write problems.
Turning off anti-virus software of anything that could possible run in the backround as well.

Usually when they boot that far and stop it is a bad burn, for one reason or another. You may even want to set DVD Decrypter to burn at 1X, it will not burn that slow anyway but sometimes helps.
Rebuilding can also help but that would be a last steo if all the other stuff fails to fix it.

ok the game works but its playing really slow. i havent got ingame yet because the video seqeunces are taking forever. does that help you identify the problem?

i would then try rebuilding the ISO and reburning it.
That can help with slow load times and audio/video glitches like that.

would adjusting the voltage on my ps2 laser fix it. im willing to take the risk. cus this is really starting to piss me off now.
