I started having a problem about a month ago. I can write disks, and I can read them on this computer. But audio disks will not play on my CD players, data disks won't read on another computer.

I've had this problem with assorted software. I've tried Nero, Ez-CD Creator, and Acoustica. I've tried 3 different kinds of disks to see if it was a media problem.

Finally, I decided it must be a bad CD-RW drive and replaced it. I still have the problem with the new drive.

I'm using Windows XP with SP2 and Nero 7.0.1.2. Any suggestions?

Are these CD tracks MP3 that your importing into Nero?

If so try to get a free program that will convert the MP3's to compatible CD audio format.

Then import those into Nero when burning. Its been said that Nero 7 has a problem converting MP3 files into CD-R compatible files.

Thanks for the tip, but I don't think that's the whole problem. Both EZ-CD Creator and Acoustica have the same problem. Besides, I have the same problem burning data files to disks.

Try using Record now or itunes for audio. As far as DVD's go, if you are trying to convert different types, try using Imtoo MPEG convertor and use DVD to make the actual DVD. In my experience these are the least buggy of the bunch. They offer trials of each but I'm sure you can find a free reg somewhere. If this is not an option, check your Bios and try updating them. Also you may ant to try restoring your system to an earlier point and try to figure out what program or settings you changed that caused the mess. Hope this helps
