I have an avi file that i tried to encode to mpeg with TMPGEnc to make a VCD.

I have separated the audio with Virtual Dub and have no problems with the audio and video being in sync. However, I end up with a picture size much smaller than the original.

When i view the avi file in WMP the video takes up almost the full size of the default screen and is very clear. When i finish encoding the file and i play back the new mpeg in WMP i end up with a very small picture size and if i enlarge it at all, it is distorted.

When i encoded the file the first time i originally set it at Full Screen(keep aspect ratio). This produced the above mentioned result. I also tried Center which produced a picture a little bit larger and clearer but most of the video was cut off from view.

How do i keep the quality and the viewing size of the original file? Please help! Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

I use Imtoo mpeg encoder. It converts about 13 diff file types to whatever you want. Plus it lets you specify all the sive details, framerates, everything if you like just reply to me with a pm and I'll shoot you the program.

OK. Well i have good news and bad news.

Good news is that i have fixed the problem with the size and quality of the video. Bad news is that after 12 seconds the video of the encoded file gets choppy. It freezes for a few seconds and then starts again at the point where it should have been had it played the whole time.

So I end up with a freeze frame of video for 4 or 5 seconds one after another. The audio plays through without a problem. How do i fix this?
