My brother came back from a holiday @ the US with a bunch of PS2 games. When he plays backups from these games on his system they work perfectly with Swap Magic.

When i try to play the backups on my system (it's the same model of PS2), i've got no colors in my games. The screen is black and white. I have this problem with al of the backups of NTSC-games and with none of my PAL-backups.

Can this be television-related? Are there any solutions for this problem?

I take it you are also using swapmagic to boot??

As I remember it, The colour problems were usually solved by using a Scart connection to your TV rather than a co-axial connection into the arial socket.
However, if your picture is also rolling then your TV is 50HZ (PAL) only and cannot cope with a 60HZ (NTSC) video signal.

Thanx for the quick reply.

I am using a scart-connector so that doesn't seem to be the problem.

I think it's my tv, i don't think it supports 60 Hz.

Are there way's to easily convert the NTSC-games to PAL? I have only backuped a few of the games so far, so if i can use a sort of patch with the other NTSC-games, maybe i can still use them (with color ;-))?

u can change the video mode to PAL using swap magic

I've read about the possibility... but i can't seem to find out how i do this. I tried pushin other buttons at the moment I've inserted the backup disc but this doesn't seem to work.

use Swap Magic 3.6 can change the colour system (NTSC,PAL)
use video mode for those PAL game to ntsc(video mode to ntsc),
Press (SQUARE) although you can use X its advised that you use Square
tested Tomb Raider PAL ver it works on my TV video system NTSC 3.58

Swap magic may well resolve Colour problems (RGB signal) but if the picture is also rolling then your TV will only accept a 50Hz signal. I dont believe Swap magic can change the frequency from 60Hz to 50Hz. This would take special equipment.
Going the other way is easier (PAL to NTSC) because a 60hz TV can handle 50Hz aswell.

I found a solution. I can patch the images with a NTSC to PAL fix. This works fine.

hello, I have a question too. I live in canada and I have a PAL gamecube. My television is 60Hz. Can it play corectly my gamecube if I take a PAL to NTSC converter?
