Hi all.

After finding out the hard way that DVD+RW is not the way to go (http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/328013), I bought some Verbatim Advanced AZO DVD-R's. I hope the backup's will work now!

Just wondering before I waste a dvd-r, is there a site I can check to see if my game needs to be patched first as I understand some games do before they will work.

I'm using the newest swap magic on the "Fat PS2".

i had some trouble with my backups recently. i use the same verbatims as you. when i first copied a game onto the dvd i burned it at 4x and it didnt work. then i tried to burn it at 8x and it didnt work. so finally i just set the burn speed to maximum and it fluctuated from 3x to 8/9x etc.. and everyone ive copied this way has worked perfectly. i personally use Alcohol 120% to burn my backups. i would not recommend using patches. only use them if the game must have one applied to work with swapmagic. i use swapmagic and a "fat" ps2 and have copied over 30 games and never used a patch on any of them and they have all worked great.
