Hi guys/ladies
my xbox will only load the original dashboard i think one of the games may have caused this.
I have tried installing a new dashboard with evolution x also i have tryed autoinstaller and slayers 2.6 but each time the original dash board comes on.
The man in the computer shop says he will put the dash on for £35 which i think is daylight robbery.
He says that because it is a older box i need an old setup disc because the files are in a different place is this true.
i have a old xbox i think it is a version 1 it is from hungary.

so you are trying to softmod your xbox. But you are not able to load other dashboard. Do you have AID? if yes, then you can do ftp. Then you will find out what are in the xbox hdd.

im not trying to softmod the xbox
I bought my xbox a while back modded to play backup games it came with evox on it everything was great.
then i think a game may have updated something because all i have now is the original dashboard and i cant connect it to my pc.
Is there a simple way to reset the dashboard im a complete noob but i seem to be going round in circles is it that hard to put it back on

how can i tell if its softmodded or chipped it was done along time back by someone else and came with games on the harddrive.
i was told that is was chipped because i can load xbmc from the dvd is this true
also if it is softmodded is that why i can reload the dashboard with the installation discs

another reason i think it is chipped and not softmodded is because i can still load my copied games even though the dashboard as gone.

Well, you can load xbmc, play backup games on both softmod or hardmod.
How to tell if it is chipped? if you can see the modchip inside the xbox. If your xbox still can boot backup games. In this case your xbox is chipped.
do you have installer disk? do you know ftp?

right i have
slayer 2.6
auto installer
evolution x
i have never connected the xbox to pc before but i have read that i wont be able to because i only have the original dashboard.
is there a way i can do it by just putting a disc in and setting something up.
i have been trying to sort this problem out for over a month now and the flippin original dashboard comes back on its really stressful.
sorry about that lol just venting my anger lol

Can you load that 3 disks? what do they have in the main menu? do they show xbox ip address, C , E ,F drive?

im at work at the moment so i cant tell you what they say at the moment m8.
i was wandering something ,can the dashboard be installed straight from a disc and if so does anyone have the time on sunday or monday to go on messenger to help me out.
I feel abit cheeky asking but i seem to be going round in circles

That is what i'm trying to do. Install Evox from the disk.
YOu should explore the menu on those disk.

when i put evox disc in i chose first option prepare hard drive it went through the motions installing everything but when i rebooted the original screen came back on.
