Trying to backup Marvel VS. Capcom2 and DVD Decrypter keeps saying that the file is not DVD format or something like that any ideas. I tryed to burn it onto cd using nero but it just gets stuck on the playstation logo. I think this is DVD format game but im not sure why i cant burn it with DVD Decrypter? Street fighter AC was the same type of file and that worked fine. ANy help from anyone would be awesome.

how big is the file? did you download it or copy it from a ps2 game disk. if you backed up the game from your genuine disc, if its a cd it will be blue underneath if its a dvd it will be silver.

try using Alcohol 120% and set the write speed to maximum. copy it to a cd again and it should work fine using that method.
how big is your file/image?

This is what DVD Decrypter says
Your image doesnt appear to be of the correct format for burning onto a DVD
Image format: MODE2/FORM1/2352
DVD Format: MODE1/2048

yeah sure. first of all go to add images and select your game iso/mdf file. then click on the file (in the alcohol images list) and then press image burninmg wizard. insert a blank cdr in to your cdrw drive. select your cd writer from the menu and make sure the write speed is set to maximum. then press next. wait till your cd pops out of the tray and your done!

You should burn it with Alcohol 120%. When you burn it make sure in the data type bar at the bottom is set to Playstation 2 and it should work. I downloaded mine from a game only torrent site and it was in MDF/MDS format as well.Burn at 4x speed or less to get it to work properley.

i dont agree with burning it at 4x. i wasted over 10 dvd's and cd's burning them at 4x. they only worked after buring them at maximum speed. although, mabye everyones ps2 and cd/dvd writers are different. my ps2 wouldnt even play a genuine verbatim DVD-R burned at 4x. it worked when it was burned at maximum speed though.
when i say maximum speed i dont mean 8x, it goes up and down. for instance : wheni was making a backup of ratchet & clank using Alcohol 120% it burned at 2x then went up to 3.4x then up to 6x or 7x then back down to 3x or 4x then up again to 7x etc. and for some reason copying the games this way, they all worked flawlessly.

i suppose it depends on what backup method you use. i use swapmagic and backups only work when i copied them at maximum speed. mabye you get better results burning at 4x if you have a modchip?

hello
its supposed to be smaller, like only a few bytes though, not 30 mb....you sure its 30mb?
what is a MDS file?...>
the MDS file is a file that contains all the information required that is needed to burn the MDF file properly,(basically it tells your pc how to burn the MDF image)
anyway,i would just load a cd disk in,and use Alcohol 120 to burn the MDS file,it should actually burn the MDF file, and not the MDS so dont worry
you can always select "simulation" before you burn it to disk and see what happens
cheers!!!
