I have two computers. the one upstairs has all of my iPod music and movies on it. The other one has the internet.. I re-formatted Anchorman to a .mp4 (quicktime) format. I am wondering if there is a program that can put the .mp4 formatted movie onto a DVD-R. Ive tried a couple programs but it wouldnt budge... any suggestions on a programs to download to achieve this?

If you want the mp4 format converted to DVD format, Cucusoft MPEG/AVI to DVD/VCD/SVCD Converter Pro 7.07 or Lite will do this.

http://www.avi-vcd.com/

It will convert it to the DVD format and burn it to the disc.

Nerovision?

Or again you can just make a data disc (a VCD i think its called in this case?) but this wont play on all dvd players.

@Skiboards

What are you going to play the MPEG4 disc on after getting it to the DVD?

If you are going to use it on a stand alone player then the only way the MPEG4 file will work is if your standalone has an MPEG4 codec on it and is compatible with MPEG4 play.

1 of my DVD players play MPEG4(DivX/Xvid) files. So I will run Nero Start Smart and choose to make a data DVD and import all the MPEG4 files I want onto the DVD into nero.

It will then burn the files as a data DVD giving me accsses to all the MPEG4 files on the disc once I place it in the comaptible home DVD player.

Now if your standalone isnt comaptible with MPEG4 files then you will have to convert the file into a DVD compliant DVD with a program like Nero vision express or like the 1 that was sugested above.

As to the VCD that was mentioned above that is just another format that most DVD Home players can play and is compatible with. It will output a smaller size file so that you can burn it to a CD-R that is still comaptible with most DVD Players. The downside to that is most movies that are backup as a VCD you will most likly have to have 2 CD-R to get all the movie on it plus the quility of the movie will be downgraded.

Then just write the mp4 file as a data disc. Don't convert it to anything.

Or and easier way would be for you to just use a memory stick?
Or you could compress it and email it to yourself, but putting it on disc or memory stick is far far easier.

Wouldn't that depend on the size of the mp4? It might be to big for him to do that.
