I just can't justify forking over a 100 dollars for this. Are there are cheaper wireless adapters for the xbox 360

Try browsing for wireless game adapters. I know you could get a Linksys WGA11B Wireless-B Game Adapter for a third of the Microsoft unit's cost at Amazon. I haven't tried it, but I remember someone said, on a previous thread, they were more difficult to set up than the Microsoft unit.

you don't even need a "wireless game adapter". thats just a badge for a wireles adapter.

just go to your favorite store and get a decent access point (I assume you have one already), to run as an access point, and another decent access point and set it to CLIENT MODE. do a SITE SURVEY and connect to your AP's SSID. that's about it (if you have WEP/WPA/WPA2 or whatever, you will need to set up the password/key too).

DHCP (if enabled on your access point/router) will take care of configuring your xbox).


anyways I don't like wireless at all. Even on G-mode (54mbps) you won't get less than 6ms delay. with even the cheapest 100mbps switch or hub you will have a < 1ms delay, and guaranteed signal :)
